Our ‘New Home Guarantee’
All our new-build homes come with the UK's leading new home warranty, NHBC’s Buildmark 10 year warranty and insurance cover. Our barn conversions come with a Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML) Professional Consultants Certificate (PCC) generally known as an Architect's Certificate. By signing the certificate our Architect confirms that he/she has designed and/or monitored the construction of the property and that he/she will remain liable to the owner and any lenders for a minimum of six years.
We complete all our homes to a very high standard which complies with both Building Regulations Standards and NHBC's Buildmark Standards.
We are extremely proud to have been registered with NHBC for over 40 years and never had a claim made against our work.
Under NHBC's Buildmark scheme we are obliged to put right any defects or damage caused by our failure to build to the required standards for the first two years after completion. From years three to ten, NHBC provide insurance to cover the cost of putting right any damage caused by defects in specified parts of the home. Prospective purchasers will be supplied with a policy document which they can refer to for information on Buildmark and the cover it offers.
The Consumer Code for Home Builders
In April 2010 The Consumer Code for Home Builders came into effect. 'The Code' gives protection and rights to purchasers of new homes, ensuring that all new home buyers are treated fairly and are fully informed about their purchase before and after they sign the contract.
'The Code' consists of requirements and principles that home builders must meet in their marketing and selling of homes and their after-sales customer service. Watson & Cox Homes is fully committed to the Code and our Customer Charter.
